Practical Training and Assessment Guide.


1. Refrigerant Cylinder Handling

The Candidate will develop ability, knowledge and use of Fluorinated Refrigerant and be required to show that they are able to transfer Refrigerant, from a R134a refillable storage container into an air conditioning recycling machine, giving due regard to Health & Safety and using appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).


2. Refrigerant Recycling

The Candidate will gain experience in the use of air conditioning recycling equipment, on a motor vehicle. The Candidate will also acquire a sound understanding of Refrigerant Handling Legislation, the necessity for use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with Health & Safety Law.


3. On-line IMI Assessment

The on-line Assessment is a multiple choice questionnaire to complete within a set period of time.


4. General Guidance

Equipment is provided for the practical training assessment, except PPE. The Candidate is required to bring suitable Overalls, Footwear, Chemically Resistive Gloves and appropriate eye protection. (Suitable gloves and eye protection are available at a small additional charge).


*Please note that we are not assessing your ability to use the workshop equipment but on your knowledge gained and skill level following your training. You may ask for help with the equipment and the assessor will assist you.
